Some individuals have a small or under developed chin which is known as microgenia. A small chin can create an imbalance in the face particularly the profile. A chin augmentation is a procedure where the surgeon places an anatomically correct implant under the chin muscle through an incision under the chin or through the mouth. There is some swelling following the procedure, but the results are immediate. A chin augmentation creates refinement of the facial features as they are more proportionate once the procedure is complete. Temporal Brow Lift

Some advantages to having the implants placed under the muscle are a decreased risk of capsular contracture, the muscle serves as an additional layer of protection for the implant, and the preservation of normal nipple sensation. When placed under the muscle it does not hinder the detection of breast cancer and one can get normal mammograms. Reconstructive Breast Surgery
There are several approaches to Breast Reconstruction. One approach involves moving skin, muscle and fat to build the breast ( flap). Another involves the placement of a tissue expander (under the chest muscle) which is later replaced by an implant. Reconstruction is a process. Once the first phase is complete, we will go back to make adjustments and create a nipple. The areolar can be tattooed in the office.
